The festival highlights the local product of Vilanova's gastronomy, which has the gastronomic seal of the Catalan Tourist Board and is part of the cultural heritage that has been passed down and preserved from generation to generation and which has always been one of the benchmarks of Catalan cuisine.

On the other hand, and with the aim of highlighting and valuing the talent and ingenuity of local businessmen and organizations, who contribute to the economic development and dynamism of the city in an active and responsible way in the tourism, catering and trade sectors, awards will be given to commercial, tourist and gastronomic establishments.

The L'Aplec del Caragol de Lleida is a popular gastronomic festival that is held in the capital of the Segrià region at the end of May. The Day of the fideus rossejats is one of the gastronomic references of Ametlla de Mar. These festivities serve to increase the knowledge that those who visit us have of our gastronomic culture. Like every year, L'Ampolla celebrates the Harvest Festival where the fishing port is transformed for the occasion into a rice field, showing visitors the process of transforming rice once it has been harvested, until it is bagged. Those attending the festival will be able to see how, once the sheaves of rice have been collected, it is threshed to separate the grain from the chaff, how it is dehusked to clean it, how it is piled up and arranged in rows to dry and how, finally, it is sorted to clean and bagged.
